Yet the punch that “My Sister's Keeper” packs is an emotional wallop that can't be denied. The book focuses on the struggles of the Fitzgerald family as a result of their daughter Kate's illness – she suffers from APL, a form of Leukaemia. The plot is about a sister who was created to donate organs to her sick sister. The plot is very intense, and will have you crying by the end. The film received mixed reviews from critics. Though many people have probably read this book, it is always one of my favorites. The movie “My Sister's Keeper” is a great example of how people deal with death. Pictures released the book-based film, My Sister's Keeper. I finally got to reading (and finishing) the Jodi Picoult book so many of you love: My Sister's Keeper. The sisters in the story seemed as if they had the understanding that death was something that was a part of life. There came a point, deep into the melodramatic morass of My Sister's Keeper, when it suddenly struck me: Cancer, the way most films deploy this Big Scary Thing, is pretty much the same as the Empire State Building or the White House getting blown up… Keeper — based on the novel by Jodi Picoult [Amazon U.S.] [Amazon U.K.] — relies far too much on shorthand that assumes you share its point of view instead of making you understand where it's coming from. In Jodi Picoult's novel My Sister's Keeper, we see the perspective of six people affected by Kate, a young girl battling a rare form of cancer. My Sister's Keeper is a book written in many voices over the course of a few weeks.
